Opening of International Summer School

International Summer School “Tree Rings, Climate, Natural Resources, and Human Interaction” have started on August 13, 2018 in Cheryomushki settlement. School is being organized by Laboratory “Dendroecology and Ecological Monitoring” of Khakass Technical Institute, Siberian Federal University with the support of the Association for Tree-Ring Research, V.N. Sukachev Institute of Forest (Krasnoyarsk), RusHydro and in conjunction with the University of Arizona (ASU), Siberian Federal University (SibFU) and National Park "Shushensky Bor". The participants’ accommodation and classrooms are provided by Sayano-Shushensky branch of SibFU.Young scientists from Poland, Belgium, South Africa, Lebanon, India and various regions of Russia arrived to participate in the course, which allows them to obtain basic knowledge and skills in the field of dendrochronology and dendroecology. The main classes, which include lectures, laboratory studies and field work, are led by outstanding dendrochronologists: prof. Ramzi Touchan and prof. David Meko from the University of Arizona. Also lectures will be provided by scientists from SibFU: prof. Eugene A. Vaganov, prof. Vladimir V. Shishov, prof. Irina V. Sviderskaya, ass. prof. Elena A. Babushkina, PhD Liliana V. Belokopytova, and PhD Alberto Arzac.
