Scientific seminar
02.18.2022
On February 16, 2022, at 15:00, a scientific on-line seminar with international participation "Possibility of crops yield reconstruction in semi-arid conditions based on the quantitative anatomy of coniferous wood" was held on the basis of the Scientific–Educational Laboratory "Dendroecology and Ecological Monitoring".
The event was attended by laboratory personnel and scientists from the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (Lucknow, India), Dr. Santosh K. Shah and Dr. Nivedita Mehrotra. Within the framework of the seminar, the prospects for international scientific cooperation on its topic were discussed. Questions of methodology were raised, like obtaining long-term chronologies of conifer wood anatomical parameters with different degrees of detail, that are suitable for yield reconstruction; usage of short-term temperature and precipitation series for their dendroclimatic analysis; various approaches to optimizing regression reconstruction models.
As part of the current collaboration, it is planned to write an article manuscript and to submit it into one of the international scientific journals. Previously in this field, together with Indian colleagues, articles have already been published in the International Journal of Biometeorology and Forests.
