Dendroecological expedition to the Republic of Tuva

From June 13 to June 16, 2017, researchers of the institute, with the researchers from Tuva State University and the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tuva, took part in a dendroecological expedition. The expedition was attended by: Oidupaa Orlan Ch. - PhD in Bioligy, Head of the Laboratory "Dendroecology and Archeology", Tuva State University", Dongak Vasily I. - forester of the Forest Protection Center of the Republic of Tuva, Kostyakova Tatiana V. - Junior Researcher - of Educational Laboratory "Dendroecology and Ecological Monitoring" of Khakass Technical Institute of Siberian Federal University, Silyutin Nikolay V. - Engineer of the Department "Construction" of Khakass Technical Institute of Siberian Federal University, Alexey Korobkov - Expedition Driver, Khakass Technical Institute of Siberian Federal University.
The route of the expedition passed along the lower part of the northern macroslope of the Tannu-Ola Mountains. Three Kozhuun (municipal districts) were covered: Tandinsky Kozhuun, Ulug-Khemsky Kozhuun, Chedi-Kholsky Kozhuun. The total length of the route was almost 500 km. The participants of the expedition collected a lot of samples of wood (cores of living trees, crossections) of Siberian larch and Scots pine with the purpose of revealing lurch outbreaks. The camp of the expedition was located near arzhaan, a healing source that is rich in radon. Also, the expedition members visited the International Centre of meditation "Sangye Choling", which is located on the shore of Lake Chagytai, in the immediate vicinity of the collection site.
