AsianDendro 2019

Emploees of our Laboratory Zhirnova D.F. and Belokopytova L.V. took part in the international conference AsianDendro 2019. It was the sixth Asian Dendrochrological Conference, held November 24-30, 2019 at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Paleoscience, Lucknow, India (http://www.bsip.res.in/old/ada2019/asiandendro2019.html).

Our studies were presented in the Dendroclimatology section with report "Four tree species under climate change in moisture-limited area of South Siberia, Russia."

Our participants also took part in the poster session with reports "Crops yield in Khakassia (South Siberia): reconstruction based on low- and high-frequency components of tree-ring chronologies" and "Picea obovata has divergent growth trends and an climate response on individual scale along full-range elevational gradient in Western Sayan Mountains, Siberia."

The conference was attended by both young scientists and leading experts in the fields of dendrochronology, wood anatomy and related sciences. The geography of participants was also extensive: in addition to representatives of various organizations of India, among the participants were scientists from Thailand, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Japan, Bangladesh, Iran, Germany, Poland and Russia.

The conference also included workshops on the quantitative wood anatomy (Dr. Kambiz Pourtahmasi, Iran), dendrogeomorphology (Dr. Jerome Lopez-Saez, Dr. Sebastien Gupllet, Switzerland) and the use of R software in dendrochronological studies (Dr. Marcin Koprowski, Poland).
